BN Systems, Inc. is a certified WBE communications company specializing in the installation and maintenance of business telephone systems and voice mail; the design and installation of structured wiring systems including copper, fiber optics, and outside plant.
The Telephony Division functions as an interconnect between local dial tone service providers (AT&T, Verizon, Choice One, etc.) and the company’s customers as well as designing and engineering custom communications solutions. The company installs, programs, and maintains a variety of telecommunication equipment, which includes but is not limited to, PBX Systems (Private Branch Exchanges) for up to 20,000 stations, Key Telephone Systems for smaller firms (5 - 50 stations), Voice Mail, Automatic Call Distributors, Computer Telephone Integration Applications, and Voice-Over-Internet Protocol (VOIP) Solutions. The company also acts as a subcontractor for installations and maintenance of several large national customers in this arena.
The Data Construction Division is focused on design and build projects throughout the Northeastern states, including CCTV, Access control, intercom, A-V systems, and other system types. This division has installed over 300,000 cable drops and over 1000 miles of fiber optic cabling in the past ten years. Some of the highlights have included three state colleges, three airports, a stadium, over 300 courthouses for the New York State Unified Court System, Price Waterhouse, The Niagara Falls Air Force Base, and over 120 Federal facilities. As a fifteen -year member of BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Society International), BN Systems, Inc. has been one of the leading advocates and helped spearhead the effort to bring standards and accountability to an industry that has been traditionally treated as a second tier discipline.
BN Systems, Inc. is a full service LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) contractor. This means that the company is capable of, and has installed LAN’s (inside copper and fiber optic cabling) for up to 8000 computers. In addition, the company has installed copper and fiber optic outside plant cabling for WAN applications covering several square miles.
As an installer, BN Systems, Inc. has traditionally installed a ADC/Krone structured cabling solution for their clients. ADC/Krone is an industry leader and on the cutting edge internationally, which can be attested to by their dominance of the European market as well as their being the “de facto” choice of Verizon and three other of the major telephone companies in the United States. ADC/Krone was one of the pioneers that brought the twenty-year warranty for cabling performance to the industry, as well as providing certified installers and installations.
BN Systems, Inc. installed the first ITT/iTRACS structured cabling solution in the United States. This cabling system is unique in the fact that it is completely monitored on the network to provide real-time connectivity information bringing cable management to the digital age. This type of monitoring will provide companies with the ability to implement and reallocate resources in less than ¼ of the time it usually takes and automatically updates the cabling records with no additional input to the database. In an upcoming issue, Forbes Magazine will feature this new technology and BN Systems, Inc. as the first engineer and contractor to install the ITT/iTRACS System in the United States.
BN Systems, Inc. maintains a BICSI certified RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) on staff. The RCDD is a designation for individuals who demonstrate expertise in the design, implementation, and integration of telecommunications and data communications transport systems and related infrastructure. The RCDD designation is recognized industry-wide as indicating superior expertise in the design of voice and data cabling systems.
BICSI is a professional not-for-profit telecommunications association, founded in 1974 to serve the Telephone Company Building Industry Consultants (BIC’s). BIC’s are responsible for the design and distribution of telecommunications wiring for commercial and multi-family buildings.
In addition, most of the installers are trained and accredited by BICSI, according to their level of accomplishment. This provides the company’s clients with the highest technical solutions, installed according to industry standards that will serve their needs regardless of where their networking solutions migrate to in the future.
The company plans to extend their customer support by offering consulting services for telephony as well as data applications. These services will be offered on an independent basis or system architecture basis.
